The standard form of greeting in both professional and social settings is to smile. Our willingness to give a broad smile or laugh, however, is directly affected by the feelings we have about the appearance of our teeth. If our teeth have become dull or yellow, are misaligned, or look damaged in some way, we are not necessarily ready to share our smile with others. In Dr. Titania Tong’s dental clinic, Hong Kong patients have the opportunity to benefit from smile enhancing restorative care.
Typically, cosmetic dentistry is considered as services designated for aesthetic purposes only. As dentistry has continued to evolve, however, there has been a wonderful blend of cosmetic and restorative dental care. No longer are crowns made only from noticeable metal materials. Patients of Dr. Tong can receive beautiful tooth-coloured dental crowns that contain no metal at all. Fillings, as well, are no longer limited to amalgam, but can be made without poisonous mercury and without making repairs obvious. When you combine cosmetic and restorative dentistry, you enjoy repair that hides any evidence that dental problems ever existed.
One of the most recognized cosmetic dental treatments is teeth whitening. Discoloration is a problem for many people. This issue is not a result of poor oral hygiene, but it may make it seem as though a person’s teeth are not well taken care of. In truth, most people’s teeth will dull with time simply as a result of the accumulation of tiny particles in the pores of teeth.
A brighter smile can be yours when you team with your dentist to accomplish your goals. Not only does Dr. Tong offer professional teeth whitening that is far advanced compared to commercial solutions, but she has the skill set that helps her determine if discoloration is the result of common stains or due to damage or medication use, and therefore, whether teeth whitening is the ideal procedure for brightening the smile.
Whether the cosmetic issues you have with your smile are purely related to appearance or also linked to tooth damage, Dr. Tong will design a care plan that will meet your needs for functionality and beauty. Call 852 2810-1801 for your visit.
Dr. Titania was born in Hong Kong, but she grew up in England, where she completed her undergraduate education and received her degree in dentistry from Guy’s Hospital Dental School at the University of London. She practiced general dentistry in London for a period of four years, and then returned to Hong Kong in 1987, where she spent the next decade working in a large group practice before establishing her own dental clinic in 1999.
